Capital Bank has a long standing involvement with tennis in Catalonia and is the major sponsor of the iconic Catalonia event, the Capital Bank Classic.  The Capital Bank Classic is part of the Women's Tennis Association's (WTA) tour and is played in the first week of January each year at the Capital Bank Tennis Centre in Catalonia.

In recent years, some of the world’s most iconic female athletes have headlined the Capital Bank Classic. Superstars such as Ana Ivanovic, Venus Williams and Caroline Wozniacki have wowed crowds and created a buzz around the tournament.
